Moscow and Israel discussed prospects for the development of tourism

On April 29, the annual meeting of the Mixed Moscow-Israeli Business Cooperation Commission was held in Tel Aviv. The main agenda of the event were issues related to the development of the tourism industry. For the Moscow Committee for Tourism, a visit to Israel was the first foreign trip since its foundation in 2018. And the choice of partners from Tel Aviv to discuss issues and share experiences is far from accidental - the Israeli city is famous for its successful implemented strategy to attract tourists from around the world, as well as innovative solutions in the provision of tourism services.

In the framework of the Commission a round table was held, where the Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Department of External Economic and International Relations of Moscow Sergey Cheremin, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee Tatyana Sharshavitskaya, Counselor of the Mayor of Tel Aviv Ilan Mikaeli, General Director of the Association of Hotels spoke Tel Aviv Oded Grofman. A number of other Moscow and Israeli experts also took part in the discussion. In the format of “public talk” experts discussed a number of important issues that contribute to the successful development of the tourist market in cities: the main aspects and models of marketing products (“Cities Break”), market trends, “portraits of tourists” of both countries, government support and the development of the hotel industry. The start-ups of Mappo World, VDroom, Placense and Wish Trip also took part in the business event. Mappo World develops digital maps that allow users to keep track of their favorite books, authors, characters and places. VDroom is an innovative company that developed the first VR / 360 content management system. With the help of innovative technologies, the company contributes to increasing conversion and maximizing profits for such large tourist enterprises as Best Western, Ibis hotels, Days Inn, Mercure Hotels, Radisson Blue and others. Placense collects and analyzes people's behavior based on their physical location. Wish Trip is the largest platform that allows you to dynamically record the travel of tourists. Navigation tools companies develop personalized itineraries for each tourist, will spend on the most famous sights of the city.

At the end of the round table, Sergey Cheremin officially presented the draft Program of Cooperation between the Government of Moscow and the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa for 2019-2021 to the adviser to Mayor Ilan Mikaeli. The program is designed for three years and includes, in particular, the exchange of experience and information on the development of urban transport and road transport infrastructure, housing and communal services; the introduction and use of high technology in urban management; the development of production and trade between the business structures of the two cities; strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, sports and culture.

In Jerusalem, on April 30, an official meeting was held with the newly elected in 2018 Mayor Lyon Moshe. At the meeting, issues were raised on joint projects in the field of culture and business. In particular, the possibility of holding the Days of Moscow in Jerusalem in the coming years was discussed. The delegation of the Moscow Government also held a productive meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Tourism. An active political dialogue is maintained between Russia and Israel. The practice of regular political consultations has been established, and delegation exchanges are being carried out at various levels. The mixed Moscow-Israeli commission is held annually in Israel.

The event was organized by the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of the city of Moscow. Moscow Center for International Cooperation was the main operator of the events.
